Some torture links
David Brooks, who noted comedian Ann Coulter accurately describes as “the Elisabeth Hasselbeck of the New York Times,” has a mildly interesting article where he parses between the first and second terms of the Bush administration with respect to anti-terror policy. Brooks correctly points out that the second term reduced the “excesses” of the first term.
A fairly concise and to-the-point critical examination from McClatchy of key claims in Cheney’s recent speech on interrogation.
An article by Chomsky in The Nation, where he discusses primarily the recent history of American torture policy, and addresses some of the key justifications for torture.
The Washington Post has a useful summary video, with back-and-forth editing, of the competing Obama-Cheney speeches.
